Sun Protection
The Effect of the Sun on the Skin
Although most people find that sunshine increases their well-being, scientific research is revealing more and more clearly the dangers it holds for our skin.
UVA and UVB radiation from the sun is invisible but can nevertheless be felt by the skin and is dangerous. Energy-rich ultraviolet radiation causes not only temporary sunburn but also steadily progressing damage to the connective tissues of the dermis which can only be seen once it is too late. All these processes can lead to irreversible changes (e.g. premature ageing) and serious health risks.
