Linola Fett Nachtkerzenöl combines many years of lipid-based knowledge with a plant-based active ingredient and a fast-absorbing formulation as a basic therapy for dry skin prone to atopic dermatitis.

Active ingredient of herbal origin – 20% evening primrose seed oil

Linola Fett Nachtkerzenöl contains the herbal active ingredient evening primrose seed oil, which is extracted from the seeds of the evening primrose. The active ingredient is traditionally used to relieve itchy and dry skin conditions. Evening primrose seed oil is rich in fatty acids that are essential for the skin, such as linoleic acid and gamma-linolenic acid, which are suitable for basic treatment of dry skin and atopic dermatitis. It can be used in both acute and chronic stages of dry skin.

Dry skin needs fat, not moisture

Dry skin is not primarily caused by a lack of water (moisture), but by a weakened skin barrier. The skin barrier consists mainly of lipids – i.e. skin fats such as linoleic acids – and corneocytes. These fats play a central role: they act as a protective film, stabilising the skin barrier and at the same time protecting against external irritants. If there are too few lipids or if the barrier layer is disrupted, dryness, roughness, tightness or even itching can result. The skin is particularly stressed by the cold weather in winter. But also hot showers or irritating surfactants can remove the protective fats from the top layer of skin. With increasing age, the skin's natural oil production decreases. Diseases such as atopic dermatitis or psoriasis weaken the skin barrier. The result is always the same: a lack of lipids, resulting in a feeling of dryness. The cause is a lack of lipids. While many creams focus primarily on moisture, which hydrates for a short time, Linola Fett Nachtkerzenöl addresses the actual cause: the lack of relevant lipids. Essential fatty acids can repair the structure of the skin in the long term.

Instructions for use

Linola Fett Nachtkerzenöl is used as a protective, skin-softening cream to improve the symptoms of dry skin in acute and chronic stages, as well as to restore the skin's moisture level and eliminate rough skin.
