Cream for Stressed Skin during Radiotherapy 

Radiotherapy during cancer treatment can damage the skin. Redness, swellings, itching, dry flaky skin and a damaged skin barrier can be side effects of the radiation. These skin irritations are called radiodermatitis.  

Linola RadioDerm Cream was specially developed for the needs of skin undergoing radiotherapy. The oil-in-water emulsion calms the irritated skin and is pleasantly cooling. It can be applied very easily and soothes itching and redness. Valuable linoleic acids support the regeneration of the skin’s protective barrier. The tolerability of the cream after radiation treatment has been dermatologically proven. 

Clinical Study: Tolerability and Care Effect in Breast Cancer Patients   

In a controlled, randomised study, the nourishing properties and tolerability of the oil-in-water emulsion in breast cancer patients undergoing radiotherapy was studied. Both skin moisture and itching among the group treated improved significantly as a result of use in comparison to the control group.  There was also an improvement in the oncological nursing score (ONS). Overall, the light cream was very well tolerated.

Usage Tips    

Linola RadioDerm Cream is generally applied and spread over the skin 2x per day or as needed, or even more often. 

On the day of radiation treatment, Linola RadioDerm Cream may not be applied before the radiation, because an increase in the skin irritation cannot be ruled out. Application is recommended immediatelyafter the radiotherapy.
